Internet Work At Home Scams And How to Avoid Them
By Janice Sharman
The Internet has become a veritable paradise for the unscrupulous! Almost every advertising medium carries adverts telling you how you can get rich on the internet working at home in your pajamas for just a few hours each day. Every day we hear stories of people who are unwittingly led to financial ruin by joining "Get-Rich-Quick" Schemes.
We are constantly being bombarded with advertisements like:
- If you can copy and paste, then you can make millions each year working just a few minutes each day!
- Bagboy went from $0 to Millions in 8 months and he is ready to tell all. nothing held back!
- Insider Secrets show you how to make an absolute killing in minutes working from home using your computer.
These pitches sound realistic don't they? Far too many people from all walks of life lose hard earned cash by joining illegitimate Internet work at home programs almost every day.
Think about it... If these companies were making the millions they claim, why would they sell their secrets? Would you sell your secrets if that were you? Wouldn’t you expect that if you divulged your secrets you would also be diluting your profits? Yet, there is a different “millionaire secret” being offered up every day. Obviously, there is money to be made in the rags-to-riches secret spilling business - and therein lies the catch.
The way I understand it is that the real opportunity to make any kind of income arises when those who claim to be making the millions earn a regular income selling their so called "millionaire secrets" to unsuspecting affiliates. The more money their affiliates make, the more money the “secrets” sellers make... until the scam ruse has run its course.
It’s crucial for affiliates to be able to tell the dishonest from the honest internet marketers. There are ways you can do this. Do a search on the key term for the company offering the opportunity and read the information that is returned. Check for the opportunity you've been offered on legitimate review sites.
A good way to check out money making programs is to ask questions in forums. Well known scams are frequently discussed on forums and message boards and quite often you get first hand information of actual experiences with the company under investigation. Register and post a question yourself.
The Better Business Bureau will also tell you if they have received any complaints against the company you are investigating. They keep files on all the complaints they receive about companies and how they were resolved then make this information available to the public.
Find out how easy the affiliate company is to contact. Is mail to their support email address answered quickly? Do they have a phone number or a postal address on their site? If you can’t contact an affiliate company, what’s going to happen when you have a problem? What if you want to invoke their guarantee?
If you do get an answer, either by email or telephone, ask more questions. These should be questions that will encourage you to do business with the company. Who is the CEO? How long have they been in business? Ask questions that can be checked. If your questions are not answered satisfactorily, then do not do business with them.
There are many ways to check up on online opportunities, and if you fall into a trap and lose money without carrying out due diligence, the fault is yours.
Internet work at home business opportunities should always be backed up with a strong guarantee and stand up to rigorous scrutiny.
